Chain Mail

By the 12th and 13th century chainmail had become the most important armour in medieval Europe.
A complete set of chainmail from the high medieval period protected most of the wearers body from an opponents strikes. It consisted of tens of thousands of steel rings. The ends of these rings were rivetted shut to further strenghten them. A great deal of effort was required to produce such armour which was also reflected in the cost. A suit of chainmail could cost the equivalent of dozens of cattle or an entire farmstead.
Even nowadays chainmail is still in use to protect the wearer from injury, although you won`t find it on modern battlefields but in todays slaughterhouses.

Our chainmail shirts are offered in three sizes and different variants. Galvanized, browned and oiled, with short or long sleeves. They consist of either butted or rivetted rings. We also offer shirts made from rivetted aluminum rings. There should be something to suit the figure and taste of every customer!
Additionally, you can find an assortment of chainmail armor parts with which to expand your armor including chain coifs, chain leggings, chain gorgets and skirts.
The rings of our chainmail are made from steel wire which cannot be opened withut pliers. Chainmail shirts made from butted ("open") rings are reinforced by rivetted rings in the armpits, as this area is under extra strain during use. For more information click here!
