Freydis era uno dei leader di una pericolosa spedizione a Vinland. Molti pericoli attesero lei e il suo gruppo: fame, malattie e strani nativi con armi e tattiche sconosciute. Dopo il suo arrivo, le cose si misero subito male: attacchi implacabili hanno velocemente indebolito e terrorizzato i suoi alleati. Durante uno di questi assalti, vide i suoi alleati e guerrieri in fuga dalla battaglia, ma lei non fuggì. Afferrando la sua spada, si auto inflisse una terribile ferita per mostrare ai suoi compagni che lei non si sarebbe tirata indietro. Con una furia implacabile caricò a testa bassa il nemico, fomentando il coraggio dei suoi compagni che la seguirono all’attacco. La spada che impugnò quel giorno divenne una leggenda, e molti credono che impugnandola non si possa temere la paura. Freydis è la prima arma a caratterizzare la nostra nuova impugnatura.
