Un gambeson può assolvere a diversi compiti. È un'armatura, se indossato da solo, che potrebbe proteggere dai colpi di spada sul campo di battaglia. Negli eventi, LARP o fiere medievali che siano, può proteggere da contusioni e abrasioni. In abbinamento con qualsiasi armatura di metallo aumenterà la comodità  di chi lo indossa. Può essere usato come capo di abbigliamento a sé stante e può essere valorizzato con cinture e borse. Abbiamo varie tipologie di gambesons in molti colori e forme. La serie "Shapur" ha un taglio piuttosto orientale. Si allaccia con tre stringhe di cuoio sul davanti sovrapponendo i due lembi. Questa tipologia di chiusura si può ritrovare spesso  anche negli abiti dell'Asia orientale. Questo gambeson può incontrare anche il gusto femminile  poiché non cade dritto ma si stringe all'altezza della vita. The "Rafael" tunic is made of warming wool. In order to enhance its wearing comfort, it is additionally lined with cotton. As a result, it does not feel scratchy and offers reliable protection agianst cold. This is a very elaborately crafted tunic. It is closed by means of brass buttons and loops across the chest. The sleeves, too, have a long button strip. These buttons allow wearing this noble tunic in a looser and more airy fashion on warmer days.
