The arm guard of the Katharina armour is a modular set and already includes the spaulders. You can decide whether you want to wear only the spaulders, the spaulders with an additional upper arm segment or as a complete arm guard together with the shaped elbow tile. All segments are connected with straps and buckles, so you can adjust the arm guard optimally to your arms. Of course, all parts of the armament are flanged to ensure the safety of you and your fellow players. On the inside, the parts have been painted to protect against rust. This varnish can peel off over time. We recommend regular care with oil, e.g. with Ballistol, which is available from us.

For optimal mobility of the Katharina armour and a good fit, we have separated the upper and lower parts of the torso armour. The Katharina armour belt forms the lower part of the torso and is worn beneath the breastplate. It is fastened with a wide leather strap at the back. The size of the armour belt can be adjusted individually using the strap and by carefully bending it. The tassets are attached to the four front straps, which we offer separately, as well as in a convenient set along with the armour belt. Other tassets from our 'Mytholon Artware' armours can also be combined with these armour belts, such as Lambert, Galahad, Ortwin, or Edward.
All parts of this armour are naturally fluted to ensure safety for you and your fellow participants. The inner parts have been painted to protect against rust, although this paint may peel off over time. We recommend regular maintenance with oil, such as the Ballistol available from us.

Our Katharina armour has been specially designed for female warriors who value functionality and agility. It is a relatively lightweight plate armour, ideal for fast-paced battles and skirmishes. The contoured breastplate is divided into three movable segments, just like the backplate. This allows the torso to perfectly conform to the body shape. The height of the backplate can be adjusted using the shoulder straps. To prevent the Katharina armour from pressing on the hips, we have kept the upper torso shorter and widened the belt accordingly. Worn beneath the torso, the belt forms a fully flexible lower-body armour. The large tassets effectively protect the thighs. We have paid special attention to the combination of spaulder and arm guard. These components form a modular system in the Katharina set. You can wear the segmented spaulders individually as a lightweight shoulder armour, or you can expand it with an upper arm segment. You can adjust the distance between the shoulder segment and the upper arm segment to your liking. This segment also serves to attach the contoured elbow tile, with the distance being individually adjustable as well. This customization provides you with an arm guard that can be precisely tailored to your arm, almost like a custom fit. The bracers and leg greaves have a classic round shape and do not snag on other armour pieces. They, along with the tassets, are adorned with a curved decorative segment. With the Katharina armour set, you can implement a variety of concepts, from lightly to heavily armored. Wilhelm armshield small

The small "Wilhelm" arm shield is thought to be and upgrade to our chainmail shirts. Similar to a belt shield, those add ons can show the groups colours, insignia or heraldry. It is being fixed to the wearers upper arm with a belt and can be fastened to the mails rings by using a leather string. Made from armour steel, it is not only an additional armour plate, but also another nice detail on any existing costume. The shield can also be fastened to any other existing armour and clothing - there is no definite need for a chainmail. A gambeson can also be a good foundation: just sew a leather string to the sleeve and attach the shield there! You will only need some creativity and a little handywork.
Talking of creativity: We suggest to clean the shield with Acetone prior to painting it. Afterwards just sand it with a paper with 600 grid. Use some automobile colour primer as the colour-matching foundation. When the foundation is fully dried, you should sand it again and apply a second layer of colour. Now is the time, where you can paint your details, like heraldry, animals and writings with weatherproof acrylic paint. We suggest to order a leather string from our stock: this way you have everything at hand, when starting to built your new upgrade.
