Información sobre el producto "Manolo barbute"

The barbute is the italian variation of the bascinet and was very popular in the 14th and 15th century. The sallet and the french armet helmet developed out of it later in the 15th century.
The "Manolo" barbute protects the scull and covers the neck entirely, leaving the face open, jet protected by cutting only the most unneccessary parts from the face mask. The eyes, nose and mouth stay unblocked and allow an easy breathing and good visibility.
The helmet is built with an inner liner made of foam and a leather chin strap.

Material: 1,2mm steel
Colur: blank
Size: up to 62cm circumference

Magnus visor helmet
The "Magnus" visor helmet is designed along a bascinet from the 14th century and got a little bit of "fantasy" added by us.The long and elaboratly built visor can be detached. This way the helmet can be worn as a barbute as well. The wide slight does barely restrict the vision of the wearer, the punch holes in the face mask allow a free breathing. The visor is fastened to the sides by two large thorns. The rolling shape and the backwards bent look appear slim and elegant within this helmet. The padding is made from foam and covered in cotton. The chin strap is made from upper leather and is being closed with a buckle. The beading along all edges is a little thicker than usually, to avoid bruises on the shoulders of the wearer. We suggest to wear a padded coif underneath for more comfort and protection of the head. This helmet looks best, when displayed on a wooden helm stand.Material: steelSize: up to 63 cm circumferenceWeight: 2,6 kgColour: blank

Owen kettle hat
Kettle helmets developed around the 11th century and came westwards from probably Byzantine. Quickly they became one of the most worn types of helmets in medieval europe. It was easy to make and protected well against blows and strikes from above; fro mthe horse downwards, that means. This way many infantrymen wore this type of helmet. The \\"Owen\\" kettle helmet is built with a wide brim, which protects the wearer from sun and rain. Face and back of the neck are left free, which allows an open movement, breathing, sight and hearing. All this without leaving the wearer unprotected. The three ridges along the centre of the scull cap not only stiffen the material, but also bring a distinctive style to this helmet.Inside you will finde a foam liner covered in smooth cotton as well as a chin strap for tight adjustment to the head.Material: 1,2mm steelColour: blankSize: up to 62cm circumferenceWe recommend to wear a padded coif underneath to avoid scratches and bruises.
