Lucas belt shield

Our belt shields can be painted in groups colours, insignia or heraldry to show the membership to a certain group. Made from 1,2 mm steel, we offer them in our favorite plate armour series now. Matching the "Markward" series, this shield is decorated with the typical cut edges on the top. It is worn on a belt by using the two loops on the top to hoist it through there. Naturally it can be worn as a tasset, when fastened on the upper thigh. This way you will have an additional plate armour piece. The belt shields, just like our arm shields, cry out to be painted, modded and to be combined with existing clothing. This is, where your creativity and immagination comes into place. Talking of creativity: We suggest to clean the shield with Acetone prior to painting it. Afterwards just sand it with a paper of 600 grid. Use some automobile colour primer as the colour-matching foundation. When the foundation is fully dried, you should sand it again and apply a second layer of colour. Now is the time, where you can paint your details, like heraldry, animals or writings with weatherproof acrylic paint. Hoshiro was a legendary blacksmith. Few had the great honour of using one of his creations, but the prestige it gave made even the noblest families jealous. Passed down from generation to generation, his mysterious technique produced a blade of perfect edge, and the handle was made specifically for the one it was destined to. This new Calimacil katana includes the most important elements of the old one: the Calimacil foam, both extremely durable and safe. However, the weapon now has a new, thinner blade, steel-coloured with silver accents. The handle is now white the wrappings are black for a contrasting look. Golden details such as the pommel have been added for a renewed realism. This katana’s tsuba can be changed with any one of our other tsubas, so your weapon can be truly unique. It is worn on the belt, which is pulled through the two leather belt loops on the top. Naturally it can be worn as a small tasset on the thigh. The "Ulfric" mincing knife is a real multi talent. Not only does it mince herbs perfectly, but can also be used as a chopping knife and chefs knife as well. It is made from one single piece of steel and has an elaborate swung handle. The blade was sharpened after the forging process and the completely blackened afterwards - the blade keeps its rustic look this way. Being only slightly bent, the knife can be used as a chopping cleaver as well - use it to break bones from your pork chops for example. The blades shape is made along examples of chinese cleavers and well sharpened - you can cut through vegetables and meat without getting stuck or squeezing the goods. This knife combines all the knifes you will need in a camp kitchen - why using more material and extra weight, if this is all you need? We suggest to use Ballistol spray oil regulary on this knife to keep it sealed from oxygen. The food wax oil will not resinify and is a propper way to keep all metal parts ready for use at all times. The large "Wilhelm" arm shield is thought to be and upgrade to our chainmail shirts. Similar to a belt shield, those add ons can show the groups colours, insignia or heraldry. It is being fixed to the wearers upper arm with a belt and can be fastened to the mails rings by using a leather string. Made from armour steel, it is not only an additional armour plate, but also another nice detail on any existing costume. The shield can also be fastened to any other existing armour and clothing - there is no definite need for a chainmail. A gambeson can also be a good foundation: just sew a leather string to the sleeve and attach the shield there! You will only need some creativity and a little handywork.
